Ingredients’ features
Jacob’s ladder has 10 times stronger sedative effect than that of Valerian. Roots and rhizomes of Jacob’s ladder contain 20-30% of triterpene glycosides, resinous substances, organic acids, and essential and fixed oils. Saponins contained in this medicinal herb ensure its effectiveness in treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases and provides its expectorant effect.
Jacob’s ladder has strong antitussive effect at acute and chronic bronchitis, tracheitis, pneumonia, whooping cough, and tuberculosis. It is recommended for gastric and duodenal ulcer since it relieves inflammation, helps to the healing of mucous membrane, and stops bleeding.
Jacob’s ladder prevents cholesterol depositions on arterial walls, formation of plaques, and atherosclerosis incidence. It has beneficial effect on metabolism and may be used in combined therapy of diabetes mellitus. It is often added to “renal” herbal compositions to relieve edema.
Powder of Valerian root –– is a source of valeric and isovaleric acids, valepotriates, and other biologically active substances (more than 120), contains up to 3.5% of essential oil. Many of these substances (valerenal, valepotriate, valerian, bornilisovalerianate, etc.) are technologically available only after cryogenic processing while other processing technologies are useless. It also has spasmolytic effect, improves myocardium function at cardioneurosis.
